Feeding Laramie Valley hosts a FREE lunch and fun activity for kids 18 and under during the summer. The program runs June through August, M-F from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. daily.

Summer is a critical time for children’s academic and physical well-being. During the summer children are at a higher risk of both obesity and hunger. Summer Lunch programs provide free summer meals for kids and can become an important source of nutritious food for children and youth during this time. Offering free, nutritious meals also provides an incentive for children to participate in summer enrichment programs, which means that children are not only well-fed, but in a safe environment engaged in academic and recreational activities.

The cost is free and includes lunch and an activity. Adults may join in the fun too for a suggested donation of $1.50. Everyone is welcome and no RSVP is necessary!

Lunch is served between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m., and includes a daily activity at 12:30 p.m.

 

Activities include arts and crafts and gardening. 

 

Menu and activities are planned and led by KOTL director Sandy Moody, a team of AmeriCorps VISTA Summer Associates, Foster Grandparents and dedicated volunteers.
