Albany County Community Resource Guide
A reference guide of non-profit and government resources available in Laramie, WY and many throughout the surrounding region including Rawlins (Carbon County), Cheyenne (Laramie County), and Fort Collins, CO. Includes resources for food security, health and wellness, counseling, rehab, legal assistance, housing, clothing, financial assistance, disability services, and safety from domestic violence.
Selection of Resources for Immediate Need
Offers services for children up to age 19 with developmental delays, generic problems, chronic ear infections, etc. Helps find and pay for medical care and transportation as well as connecting individuals and families with community resources. Immunizations for adults and children, strep testing, and STI testing. Offers Maternal and Child Health Services.
Offers child protection, assistance with the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), child support enforcement, Medicaid, adoption, foster care, financial and social services. Also provides childcare assistance for eligible families and recruitment of foster parents.
Provides lifelong support for independent living through programs that enhance seniors' quality of life. Offers transportation, daily lunch at the center and lunch deliveries, a loan closet, and activities.
Family Promise of Albany County
Help low-income and homeless families achieve independence through community help. Diaper and hygiene pantry, case management, temporary lodging, vital resource recovery, and rent and utility relief.
Feeding Laramie Valley serves lunch to children ages 0 - 17 free of charge weekdays throughout the summer. Meals are made fresh from scratch with high quality ingredients.
Feeding Laramie Valley's weekly program to distribute high-quality, fresh fruits and vegetables to anyone who needs them, free of charge.
Offers free Sunday Hot Dinner at First Baptist Church in Laramie. Also offers free medical and lifestyle transportation for non-emergency medical needs and appointments. Handicap services and out-of-town rides to Cheyenne, Fort Collins, and Loveland are available upon request.
Offers emergency shelter, food, and partial financial assistance toward rent, utility payments, and prescription drug costs (limited basis). Assists with travel costs in town as well as emergency bus tickets out of town. Food Pantry and personal hygiene items, paper goods, diapers, baby food, winter outerwear, and blankets.
Serves hot, nutritious meals without a cost and offers a place of social interaction and information about services to those in need.
Wyoming Institute for Disabilities (WIND)
Community training, education, and technical assistance for individuals with developmental disabilities, their families, professionals, and UW students.
